Gripping...ideal for adaptation to theater

I am hard pressed to think of a movie from recent years that had me at the edge of my seat and gripped as the story unfolded...and all this drama takes place in the minimalistic stuffy court room of the rabbinic court. The acting and writing were very tight and authentic; I was expecting the rabbinic judges to be depicted as caricatures but they were precise, though I think that a different set of judges could have been far more pro-active in exercising the far-reaching powers at their disposal, including lengthy prison times once they ruled that he was in contempt of their ruling to grant a divorce.
