Why not film The Lost Symbol?

I haven't seen Inferno yet, so I don't want to wade too far into the threads here and risk spoilers. Apologies.

Anyway: I'm sure Ron Howard had his reasons, and no doubt made comments; can anyone please point me to anywhere he talks about his and Brian Glazer's choice not to film The Lost Symbol? (I've searched, but without luck.)
