If you enjoyed Togetherness, try these movies:

I loved this series, particularly the excellent dialogue and the combination of humour plus relationship themes. I've watched a lot of Duplass movies over the years, and I have a few recommendations if you're craving more Togetherness-style goodness.

I highly recommend a lot of related movies that the Duplass folk have been involved in, my favorites that have a Togetherness vibe being:
**Jeff, Who Lives At Home (plot summary sounds bad but it is surprisingly good)
**Your Sister's Sister
**The Skeleton Twins

Also, not related to Duplass etc, but these quirky comedy-drama films are also a few of my favorites:
The Pretty One (2014)
In a World ... (2013)
Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005)

Also, I am interested to know if you have any other recommendations for shows or movies that are similar.

Id say some of the series Netflix is doing, Love in particular.

@MitchumsGal - Thanks! I watched The Puffy Chair a few years ago. I don’t remember a lot about it, but I will have to re-watch. :)

@HubbzZ - Thanks for the recommendation for the Netflix series “Love.” I’ve never heard of it. I just watched the trailer and it looks worth checking out. Thanks!

@HubbzZ - Re: "Love" series, I just had to come back and thank you for the recommendation.

For the first 2 episodes, I wasn't quite sure if I was going to like "Love" or not, but I am totally loving it now and it keeps getting better as the season progresses. (I've almost finished watching Season 1.) (S01E02 spent a bit too long on the drug scene, but if you're new to the show don't worry, that's not whole the whole season is.)

I am extremely picky with comedies and I don't tend to find normal sit-coms funny at all. Although the characters and storylines in "Love" are very different from those on "Togetherness," both shows are subtle, smart, quietly funny and actually portraying realistic (but not boring) characters and plot lines. And totally likeable and relatable characters.

I also enjoy the pacing of "Love." Plus, the fact that we get to see the two main characters at work etc is also a really nice bonus and adds a lot of good entertainment fodder.

Thanks again, your recommendation has given me a number of hours of entertainment joy.

I watched "Love" on Netflix, liked it a lot, though not crazy about the ending. Not sure if it just the one season and done?

It's sort of different, but what Togetherness reminded me of the most was Californication. There are many of the same themes - So Cal living, marital issues, male bonding, chaos, infidelity, etc.

Thanks Franklindf - I will check out Californication!
