"Bubbled" Discussion

Yeah, they REALLY should kept this as the finale as was originally planned. Both ways even. (Sometimes I think Cartoon Network hates us)

That was a lovely, stirring episode with all kinds of feels. Funny, moving, chilling, sad and joyous all at once...

This makes me go back to hating Homeworlders. I thought Eyeball wanted to avenge Pink Diamond...turns out he was in it for the fame and glory. Plus, I've seen that lookin enough anime to know he was thinking something perverted with that Pearl... 

Likewise, this makes me feel better about Rose. Her killing someone is a shock after all we've heard and seen of her, but apparently it's something she HAD to do. We know from "It Could've Been Great" what would've happened if she hadn't. For all we know, PD may've been as bad as the rest. Though I'd like to think she regretted it for the rest of her existence.

Oughta be interesting seeing where things go from here... 

I too, label this episode 'funny' 'moving', chilling' etc. It's like Gravity! But with 50% less tension and 986 less Clooney.

I hope the Ruby squad gets retrieved at some point. Yeah, they're menaces, but they're stupid enough to be swayed over to the heroes' side, and nobody deserves the fate of floating around in space for eternity.

Also, I appreciate that they've used the season finale as an opportunity to go against one of the shows' major themes: compassion. Sometimes, compassion isn't enough and there are some people who can't be swayed. Rose was one of those unfortunate to be put into that predicament, and later, Steven. (And just after he healed that person!)

Plus, it's a nice change of pace to see Steven just fully annoyed at someone for most of an episode. I've always loved the trope of big-hearted optimistic cartoon characters (eg. Rocko, Spongebob) just finally losing it.

I'm just glad Steven is finally starting to ask follow up questions.

Bubbled was good...gotta wonder where these asteroids are so close to Earth, though. Of course, this isn't our Earth.

Eyeball breaks the comedic tone of Ruby Platoon and straight up tries to kill Steven. Enjoy space, Eyeball.

Now they have a ship and they can send Bismuth to homeworld and she fight the Diamonds. By herself. LOL.

Kindergarten Kid already leaked. Or leaked with some gaps. I'll rewatch the broadcast version tomorrow. I usually do anyway.

Minor spoiler, same opening credits.

Charlyne Yi is a riot as the Rubies, especially as Eyeball XD
