Huh. Here I thought the townie fillers would be our source of light fluff. Never thought we'd have one with Steven & the Crystal Gems--with Smokey Quartz and Sardonyx hogging the episode to boot--and not much happens, let alone anything important. Heck, our regular cast was even largely absent in favor of Natasha and Alexia...

Still, it WAS a lot of fun. After what we just went through (and will go through), this the kind of froth we need (again). Go figure it would be Sardonyx who finally broke the fourth wall! 

Nicki Minaj's ears are burning.

... I think I might have found my least favourite episode of the series (so far). Sardonyx can be a fun character, but she's better in small doses and, well, bad talk show jokes are still bad jokes. And the earthquake at the end felt like a reeeeeallly tacked-on action sequence.

This just dragged on and on, and I'm kind of annoyed there was no real apology for Sardonyx's behaviour towards Smokey.

On a brighter note, that 'toy sales' joke got a laugh out of me, but at the same time was a brutal reminder.

I enjoyed it. Like some of the meta jokes, like how the video clips where provided by Cartoon Network. And Pearl's expression when she first sees the fusion was great.

Odd way to end the Summer of Steven.

Garnet's matter of fact reply to who defeated Jasper "Peridot". Technically, Peri poofed her.

The Wilhelm Scream sound effect when Sardonyx throws her pencils.

Sardonyx's room so why didn't she make her desk bigger?

The episode is fluff, but brings back some existing questions about what the Temple is.
