Does anyone like Pearl?

Yeah I like Pearl. I Felt really sorry for her these past few episodes. I think she's been out of order to Steven a couple of times but the kid is pretty selfless. I'm very interested in seeing how her character develops as she finds herself.

I like Pearl, but overall I find her lacking in empathy. Of all the Crystal Gems, she's the one who has no personal motive to protect Earth except out of loyalty to Rose Quartz. She's extremely flawed, but I find her more in tune with Homeworld than Earth (gems don't sleep, gems don't eat, fusion makes for a stronger gem, needs oversight, desire to leave, ugh humans). The fact that she acts like such a hot mess does indeed make her seem more human, but I don't belive she's a rebel at heart. Rose Quartz, Garnet, Amethyst, they're sure rebels, while Pearl just seems like a defector who went along for the ride.

She is my least favorite of the Gems...but I think that may be because she is the most human. I see in her the personality traits of the kind of people who have always gotten on my nerves, she is incredibly flawed in her quest for perfection. It seems a little ironic to say this, because I do agree with the above poster(s) who say she is the most in-touch with their home world. She seems to only have come to earth out of devotion to Rose Quartz, and so I do often feel sorry for her, having lost Rose and then getting stuck protecting a world she doesn't particularly like. Her loneliness resonates with me, but her actions resulting from it just make me cringe.

I still like her, but the recent events soured me to her because it made me realise she's kind of similar to another cartoon character I vehemently hate more than anything or anyone else...

They're both self-important, undeservedly haughty and irritating to others, interpreting that irritation as simply mental lacking rather than the result of any fault of their own, and both have the tendency to think only about their wants without thinking about how it effects others. See Pearl's attitude towards Greg when he was courting Rose, her obsession with getting back to Home World in that rocket, trying to make Connie a mindless drone-slave soldier for Steven, the whole Sardonyx thing.

I think Pearl has plenty of redeeming qualities, and I do enjoy her. She's not my favourite gem, or favourite character, though.

I've only seen a wee bit of this, but Pearl stuck out as the character I think I liked the most...

I think she's interesting and don't hate her, but she's sort of the only one-note character of the main cast. I'm getting tired of her pining after Rose. She's certainly my least favorite of the Gems
