Is this a remake of Rob The Mob (2014)?

Michael Pitt starred in that one, also based on a real incident, ie wannabe mobster teams up with loser broad and holds up Mafia card game. It certainly looks identical from the trailer.

Not a remake but definitely based on the same real-life incident. Variety judges the earlier movie to be far the better one in site of Arquette's excellent performance in this one.

Thank you, I couldn't remember what movie this reminded me of. Rob The Mob had a very similar plot, especially holding up the card games.

Yeah Rob the Mob was a bit better since it was fully coming off as a adaptation of what really happened. This one on the other hand came off as a Taxi Driver type movie with the trailers. The only focused on the main character's infatuation with the mob lifestyle and that he was trying to help Gotti get off, even though the mob really didn't want him anywhere near them. I was completely surprised by the sudden change in direction when the trial ended and he started holding up the various social clubs.
