I was hoping I wasn't crazy. Just heard her "reading" the internet article and definitely heard her say "afternoon". But the headline sure enough states "Accident on Pearblossom Highway Last Night" so I paused it to read the article. Nowhere does it mention afternoon. I remembered the truck headlights in the darkness right before the crash.
The article says "The crash happened along a stretch of highway that is notorious for high speed accidents". And that no drugs or alcohol appear to be involved... and that a 53 year old man from Llano, the driver of the eighteen wheeler, slammed into the car. But it doesn't even bother to say how he is. Just that it was unfortunate the unborn child, 8 months, didn't survive. And that "Mr. Smith might have fallen asleep at the wheel."
...and now I've spent too much time looking up Pearblossom, Ca. I thought they made it up.
