3/10. Here's why / Esta es la razón:
BARRIO UNIVERSITARIO tries to be like a classic American college movie, but it fails. Not just because there aren’t any frat houses (we've never had that in Chile), but because the script is childish. I know you can say that about a lot of American comedies, but at least they embrace their R rating. This movie doesn’t have nudity, drugs or anything like that. It only has swearing and chats about sex, which can be easily removed without affecting the story. If you do remove that, it’s a family movie. That’s how juvenile the humour is. And GUATA is further proof of that. I get that Rodrigo Salinas tried to be the weird fat guy of the group, and there’s nothing wrong with doing a silly voice in an R-rated movie, but don’t have him saying dialogue meant for a birthday party clown. Meanwhile, Fabrizio Copano does have the boyish charm required for his role.

BARRIO UNIVERSITARIO trata de ser como una clásica película universitaria estadounidense, pero fracasa. No solo porque no hay fraternidades (nunca las hemos tenido en Chile), sino porque el guión es infantil. Sé que se puede decir eso sobre cualquier comedia estadounidense, pero al menos esas aprovechan su clasificación para mayores de 18. Esta película no tiene desnudez, drogas ni nada así. Solo tiene groserías y conversaciones sobre sexo, las cuales fácilmente se pueden sacar sin afectar la historia. Así de juvenil es el humor. Y GUATA es una prueba más de eso. Entiendo que Rodrigo Salinas trató de ser el gordo raro del grupo, y no hay nada de malo hacer una voz boba en una película para adultos, pero no le hagan decir dialogo de payaso de cumpleaños. Mientras tanto, Fabrizio Copano sí tiene el encanto juvenil que su papel requiere.
