Did this movie kill Depps career?
Didn't see too much of him after this trainwreck.
shareI think it was on life support thanks to Dark Shadows, The Lone Ranger, and Transcendence. But maybe it was the final nail. It's really too bad this came out the same year as Black Mass since that is genuinely good and his best film in perhaps twenty years.
shareBlack Mass was a great film! I didn't hate The Lone Ranger, but Dark Shadows and Transcendence were pretty bad.
shareI didn't dislike TLR but it could had been trimmed down to 90, 100 minutes and been just fine. I think Verbinski is a solid action director but someone needs to tell him to cut down on the bloated running time. That horror movie he did a few years back was also 2 and a half hours, I think.
shareYeah the runtime was a huge problem. No reason that movie needed to be 2.5 hours.
