Made me think of

ISHTAR - the movie everyone hated when it was released. I was one of the rare persons, who found it extremely funny and when I saw Mortdecai last night I laughed the whole time. That very special kind of humour (screwball comedy of some sort) that you either love or hate. Well I loved it, especially Johnny Depp's intentional over-the-top performance. Irony at its finest.
