Are we going to keep pretending that live pop/rap music sounds good?

Because it sounds like shyt. People spitting and shouting incoherent garbage into a microphone with the cardio stamina of a 20 year smoker trying to catch their breath. Songs I like magically turn into drunk amateur karioke night at Applebees when it comes to the VMA's.

I understand it's nice seeing your favorite performer on stage but my god - shows like this have me questioning how many actually have any talent. I've been to bars where the live cover bands sound 100x better than the performances at these crappy shows/concerts.

The "awards" given dont mean much considering music videos arent even MTV's platform nor fit their format dominantly anymore making this whole ceremony pretty irrelevant.

well MTV used to be pretty much all music videos, hence music television. the first award ceremony was in 1984, and although the content of the station has changed, the award ceremony has remained popular.

Popular yet irrelevant is my point.
