Spoiler Alert, Writing/Script re: Peters Sister

Thought it was great writing coming full circle with the blanket, didnt notice it unit the second time viewing, but thats how his sister knew/felt something bad had happened to their mom.

You mean when they found her? I didn't notice and I've seen it at least 4 times. Mom's friend should have BEEN called the cops. His mom already told her Peter was crazy.

yup maybe im giving the writer too much credit, but when sis called, she said turn to the news, i wouldnt think they would show moms face, but they probably showed the blanket and sis recognized it, probably a one of a kind peace, held in the family for a looong time. When he wraps her in the blanket he commented on how much mom always loved it.

That is a good point I hadn't thought of, but what was weird to me was how his sister saw the news report in the first place- wasn't she in Denver?

I believe that Peter's sister had suspicions early on, when she kept asking to speak with her mother and Peter kept coming up with excuses. During one conversation, he said something to the point of "You can do that if you want but she'll be gone by the time you get here. I'm putting her on a plane to Mobile". I took that as his sister was threatening to catch a flight to where they lived so that she could see her mother for herself since he wouldn't put her on the phone. At some point, she must have contacted Mrs. Beasley and asked if she had seen their mother. That's why Mrs. Beasley kept calling. They were corresponding with each other and sharing notes. I think that Mrs. Beasley is the one that called and informed his sister of the news report, since they were both suspicious and concerned about her mother. When the sister called and informed Peter of the missing body that was found, she was fishing for a reaction but she was also desperately hoping and didn't want to believe it was her mother. However, the phone call didn't help to put her mind at ease and it also convinced Mrs. Beasley that something was definitely wrong so she contacted their preacher from church, who also called to check on her. By that time, they obviously knew that something was wrong because instead of Mrs. Beasley going to check on her, she sent her son instead. Her son's desperation and urgency to see her shows that there was already very strong suspicions. Not only did he try to trick his way inside the house, he then tried to force his way through the door, saying "I'm not leaving until I see Lilian!". When he couldn't force his way through the door, he yelled "May God have mercy on your soul!" as if Peter's actions had confirmed their suspicions. Then later his sister calls in the middle of the night and he tells her to stop crying so obviously his sister had already realized that he had killed their mother. He was also referring to their mother in the past tense so he was basically confessing.

I woke up this way...
