Commissioned for second series

Just finished watching the first series, and I can't say I thought it was too good. It tended to be very cheesy and old fashioned, and then it would turn extremely sentimental out of nowhere.

It does seem fairly similar to other Graham Linehan work, especially Father Ted, with the goofy jokes and the cardboard sets, but I just don't think this one resonated as well as either Father Ted or IT Crowd.

Now that they have another 7 episodes, I hope they can put fresh paint on it and liven it up a little. Currently, it's a little dire.
