Is anyone really surprised?

Seriously, is anyone surprised that this show sucks considering Ryan Seacrest is hosting it. I was actually thinking about giving the show a chance until I saw he was hosting it. Sure enough, I watched it anyway and what did I find; long drawn out segments with too few questions. I don't think he even knows how to host a show without drawing things out.

Somewhere along the way, TV producers decided that audience want human-interest stories to go with the action. I kind of blame The Olympics for starting that trend.

Now every TV event is run like the morning show and is chock full of human-interest stories that nobody but elderly grandmothers cares about. It's terrible.

You know, I had been playing the game on my Android for a couple of weeks now and had hoped that I'd get the call to fly to New York to play. Now that I've seen the game, I think I'll tell them to go away if they call.

i agree.

every contestant on every show has some traumatic story, some dead relative, some obstacle in life that they come to tears over when discussing. i havent heard ONE contestant's story just be 'im just a guy. i had good parents. nobody beat me. i feel good and i have my health. im a math teacher who likes to watch sports!' you cant be an average guy. you gotta make it sound like your grandmother meant the world to you and when she passed 17 years ago, it tore you up so much inside that you cant get over it.

Wait, who had a sob story? I think they're purposely picking people who already have money and have a good education or degrees. Like you said, why can't it just be a normal person who doesn't have a degree from Harvard or who went to MIT? I didn't even know about the app for the iPhone until a few days before the show aired and I played just 10 games in a row and qualified to be a line jumper. However, I knew I would never be picked. I'm just a college student who doesn't have any special degree. It's pretty obvious they were looking for specific people. As soon as I saw the first "surprised" contestant at her door, it was pretty obvious that it wasn't a surprise and it showed exactly what they were going for. Her house was huge. They definitely wouldn't bring a camera crew to my average looking house, haha.

I'm not really surprised by the prime time airing. It's the rest that is disappointing IMO. They promote a live stream on the website, but it's not showing the contestants throughout the day. It's a lame backstage shoot of the Top 4 Winners sitting around BS-ing with each other or sleeping.
