It's nice to see Richard Burgi play a good guy.
I love him in everything he's in, but this looks to be really decent, I hope looks aren't deceiving.

It was fun to see him lead a movie, it's just too bad it wasn't a better one. Go in expecting a really sub par detective partners story and you may find some enjoyment in it. Don't expect too much and you'll be OK.

Yeah, there are so many actors that fall into that "I don't understand why they aren't a star" category. Acting must be a very tough and humbling career because everyone is telling you you're amazing and trying to rip your clothes off but at the end of the day only a handful will ever make it to the truly megastar level. So many are worthy but only a few will get there. I imagine antidepressants are in almost every cabinet of every actor.
