I'd love some insight on this too. Liked it up to there! I THINK what we're meant to understand is that it wasn't just a fictional book she was writing, that was just another dream, and she woke up for us to realise what we saw before is true. I guess it's ambiguous whether Vera is a ghost or somehow survived..
