The scenes with Saul and Kim are becoming unbearable

Seriously, the last few episodes, the communication between the two of the them is so dull. Incredibly boring. I cringe every time a new scene begins.

I've enjoyed the series, don't get me wrong. But this whole dynamic between the two of them is starting to get really old.

I was really hoping that they were going to wrap up their relationship as a significant plot point this season but for whatever reason it seems they've decided to drag it out to the end of series.

reply

That, and they’ve officially revealed themselves as bar people who are actually conspiring to ruin the career (and probably life) of an innocent man. Kim’s rationalization is why they should destroy Howard for some sort of convoluted greater good made me sick and a lot of the fondness and admiration I may have had for her character went out the window.

You can tell Jimmy is joking when suggesting to do that, Kim is dead serious. She is worse than Jimmy in this case. I think this is really getting to Jimmy, he doesn't want Kim to go down the same road he has. I thought for the whole series Jimmy would drive Kim away, it might be the other way around before we get to Breaking Bad timeline.

Is she, or is she testing him? Does she want to see if he'll really go that far?

reply

It also feels so artificial: a character trait that crops up almost out of nowhere, mostly whenever a season is about to end.
I get that people are complicated and want different, contradicting things, but this doesn't seem to be explored in any meaningful way and just milked every season for psychological cliffhangers.

It's almost as if the original show is about *GASP* people Breaking Bad.

reply

Their interactions are among my favorite parts of the show. It's when Gus or Mike Ehrmantraut shows up that things grind to a halt for me.

reply

I thought it was great. Maybe it's too deep for you.

reply

The depth of cardboard

reply

Don't watch it if you don't like it, stop spreading your misery everywhere else.

reply

You sound like a little bitch. Anyone can criticize your favorite show. Deal with it.

reply

Yeah good point. There really is no chemistry between them. Kim is a total hottie and she can do so much better!

Saul is great fun when he's being a bad-ass like in BREAKING BAD, but as a boyfriend / husband he's pretty boring.
