Michael McKean should have received an Emmy Nomination

I loved his performance in this show. It was perfect. He made me hate Chuck and yet have so much empathy for him. I think it's a shame he wasn't nominated.

I agree Dmack. He has been outstanding in this role. The only thing I'll disagree with is I have not had any empathy
for him at all . Not that Jimmy is a saint but if Chuck were my brother I couldn't say I wouldn't do something similar.
Seem Chuck had been resentful of Jimmy the whole time. Not what I would want from an older brother.

I felt bad for Chuck regarding his illness. He was really sick. Jimmy recognized that and sometimes manipulated the situation to his(Jimmy's) advantage.

Also, there was the scene where Chuck tells Jimmy that he(Chuck) was the one who read to Jimmy(he misremembered it as their mother). Then they showed Chuck reading to Jimmy when they were little. I guess, it made me feel nostalgic about what the possibilities could have been for their relationship. At one time, they were just boys and Chuck loved Jimmy enough to read to him.

Chuck is complicated. He has courtesy for strangers but contempt for his brother. I think he recognized that Jimmy had true nobility of character. Chuck was jealous. That's pitiable. It's such an ugly situation.

Don't you think they cast this perfectly though? Michael McKean, to me, has always been such a warm, funny person in movies and to see him here with all of Chuck's vindictiveness, it's off putting. The whole time, I wanted it to work out between the brothers but Chuck is so proud, he'd rather destroy everything than admit weakness. So good.

Makes you wonder if they purposely picked McKean. Somebody with a likable nice guy past so people would
be conflicted. It's so hard to judge. Even though we love the characters almost everybody is on the shady sign.
There really isn't anybody on the show who hasn't done something on the bad side.
I wonder if we'll ever see one specific reason why Chuck hates Jimmy so much.
