Can We Just Say Adios To The Show?

Even if it's renewed, we know what's going to happen because of the clues the show has dropped. Unfortunately, the show outfoxed itself. It has revealed the whole story already. Thus, do we really need to watch 20 more shows to the end? It can be wrapped up in "Adios" and not be renewed. Ok, the show isn't Breaking Bad, but while it has got its moments, it doesn't have enough going to keep interest in the series. The Sopranos was a mob story, but it also showed the family life of the leading mobster. I think the Soprano comparison is excellent. The Sopranos stayed true to the intent of its hybrid show. "“Better Call Saul” is a singular hybrid of a show, one that is trying to: 1) tell a nuanced psychological story about two brothers 2); tell a nuanced and sometimes violent story about a handful of thugs; 3) highlight the inner and ugly workings of law firm life; and 4) do all this while constrained and guided by the contours of “Breaking Bad.”

That’s a lot, and fans of one element of the show might be indifferent to another. “The Sopranos” attempted a version of this hybrid — it was a mob story as well as a marvelously executed soap opera. But it had one tone, which is to say the two principle threads were woven tightly together. “Better Call Saul” is really jumping from one genre to another, often separated by nothing more than a smash cut." This has led to some boredom even within a good episode. We didn't have to see everything to figure it out. I'm willing to agree to one more season if the show is picked up again, but the script has to be better, tighter and decide on the type of show it wants to be -- https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/20/arts/television/better-call-saul-season-3-finale-recap-lantern.html

You were unable to come up with your own smug comments so you copy and pasted from the no longer relevant ny times? That's just sad.

**** SPOILERS!!! **** SPOILERS!!! **** SPOILERS!!! ****
S’all good, man. That's why Jimmy becomes Saul ha ha.

I think I wrote what I wrote BEFORE it was announced the show would have Season 4. AFAIK, S4 would've been the final season as planned by the creators of the show. The series started off well, but has turned into a snoozer. The clues the show gave to tell viewers what to expect next have become too much. Do you still care about Chuck's problems anymore?
He's dead, man. Are you expecting some kind of surprise as to why Jimmy becomes Saul, i.e. someone else from the show dies?
We learned more about Mike and that was the good part. He's settled into his routine now working for Gus. He may be Jimmy's best friend if it's not Kim. Now, we'll have to get some of the BB characters. Maybe that will be the interesting dynamic to keep this show going. We also have Nacho who still has to answer to Hector since he wasn't successful in killing him. What about Francesca? Will she get her job back and get to decorate Saul's office? Did I miss anything as to what S4 will entail?

I've started watching this show a week ago and I'm on second season now.

I'll be honest here - given the current lack of decent shows (yep, TV isn't great again - no breaking bad, shield, dexter - discovery, GOT and orville are ok though), I'd say that from what I've seen thus far, this show has some decent writing and acting. What is bad is that this is a prequel to breaking bad - so some things will be predictable either way. Otherwise, I'm hoping we'll get more decent TV going soon because OZARK pales in comparison to breaking bad and even this slightly inferior show.

Of course we know what happens to Saul in "Breaking Bad" (2008 - 2013), but it's about the story of how he transitioned from Jimmy and the characters in his life such as Chuck and Kim.

Don't forget, we also have the story after "Breaking Bad" with him working at the Cinnabon, so we're not just focusing primarily on his past, but rather the future events that took place.

I can see the show going on until a fifth season. I'm guessing that's Vince Gilligan's plan.
