quite good

I like how it was crafted, and how it all played out.
No "mysterious forces" or "evil spirits".
Only human beings, placed in a desperate situation though no fault of their own.
No ill-advised shortcuts through untraveled side roads or hitch hikers who turn out to be monsters.
None of those tired, well worn plot devices.
It was very well acted, and pretty true to life, I thought.
The land mines were unnecessary, and the swimming back and forth from island to island seemed a little foolish, but other than that, it was spot on.
Better than good.
Excellent, really.

I loved this movie and - likely an unpopular opinion- loved Andreas. Ethan Peck did an AMAZING job portraying him and I am not at all surprised by his psychotic break. I think that was so accurate and spot-on. Like having to make the tough decisions he did that no one else would - or could - such as sacrificing his friends/teammates who were less likely to survive in favor of those who were, mercy killing his brother, and - though, technically, this wasn't a choice, I'm including it, anyway - accidentally killing his friend/teammate is bound to take its' toll on anyone and their psyche. I fully believe that had Andreas not run from the helicopter and got on it with them - restrained, of course, because I think that would be necessary - and returned to civilization and got some major psychiatric help, he would have returned to being himself.

Love, love, love this movie and Ethan Peck really did an amazing job that I can't really help that Andreas is my favorite character.

Man, they were so effing clueless, though. Dudes spent their time playing soccer instead of... you know... looking for food. It wasn't until the black dude finally finds his brain and starts looking in the ocean for food.

I mean those jocks were all idiots. Hell, when you are doing something strenuous like swimming, it only makes you hungrier and thirstier. They should've been more sedentary instead of swimming and having so much sex, the ding-dongs.

Actually it did have tired tropes that always play out. I'm suprised by a few though like "slutty" female lives and black guy survives. But only because that Andy dude every viewer is bias about because he is white and hot. He lives after doing unspeakable things. Should of died.

This script is an inferior ripoff of other movies which seems to give no thought to character motivation. It's a plot-driven mess that jumps around and offers no reason as to why characters do what they do. I can't agree that this movie is quite good.
