Watched it for Matthew Goode, but it was actually a good film!

I've got the tendency to watch any movie just because an actor is in it, and so was the case with Pressure. As a girl who cannot even swim, the plot obviously didn't appeal to me at first. But as an avid cinephile/movie buff/filmoholic, I was pleasantly surprised by the actors' performances and the veritable suspense throughout the film. I believe they did a good job at individualizing each character and giving them a distinct life story and destiny by the end of the film. They could have developed them even further but I guess they chose not to because of the length limit. Matthew Goode stood out, as always, as dominant actor, because he owns every (lead) role he plays!

I have to agree. I was put off by the story line but was interested to see Matthew Goode in something different from a costume drama. Usually when he gets out of those he puts in a strong performance.

I really believed he was an amercian deep sea diver and he had me sobbing when he clearly realised he would be unlikely to see his family again. Good job Matthew.

I was lucky enough to see this on a bigger screen - it was shown in the Leicestershire Square Empire for a few performances when it was released. That made the whole film way more realistic and moving.
