The worst 40 minutes of tv I've ever seen. And I've watched Birds of Prey, and Vampire Diaries, and Gossip Girl and a whole lot of CW stuff. This is just so horrible!!!
I am 100% confused as too how this even got made. Who read the pilot script for this and thought it would be a good idea? That person needs to be fired. Like by a firing squad.

TAXI is a grown folks' show, not one of those tired-a** shows for the young hot CW demographic you're been watching. You need to take a break from that lame CW mess and watch a show for adults for a change.
Lol, I only referenced those shows because before I had seen Taxi Brooklyn, I used to consider them as horrible TV, but NBC has won the title for most retarded TV show of 2014 and incidentally of all time.
FYI, I watch a *beep* of TV. Everything, from the critically acclaimed to the CW nonsense. Some children shows even, old people shows on CBS, everything, but Taxi Brooklyn is something special.

shareI watched the pilot and I think it's a show for absolutely nobody. It's not bad, but not good either. Mediocre in every single aspect. Two dimensional characters with backstories that we've seen a thousand times, boring investigation part, and the lack of fun makes it as mediocre as that possible. Grown folks' show is Blue Bloods. Or even Castle, but this is just a show for nobody. When I started watching it, I expected more from the original Taxi (the French, not the *beep* US version), but other than the basic "forming friendship of a cop and a taxi driver" part it's nothing like that one. After the first few minutes I thought, okay, maybe it's not like the Taxi, but the Castle. NO! Caitlyn is nothing like Kate. Yeah, they are both strong, both females, and both detectives, and the both investigate the death of one of their parent, but the comparision is ends there. Kate is smart, witty, and surprising, Caitlyn is just obnoxious, and really-REALLY boring. The male lead character is another question. Leo is a bit better than Caitlyn, but still, not interesting enough to keep me watch the show. Caitlyn at least is consistently obnoxious and boring, while Leo sometimes a stereotypical smart-ass black character with shady past, other times suddenly become a Cal Lightman caliber figure, who somehow can read anything just by looking at people.
This show is just a basic cop movie, and has nothing to offer with that it could stand out from the crowd.

Sorry but it is good funny show and is far from mediocre. Even my mom likes the show and she doesn't usually watch these kinds of shows except for a few like CSI.
Actually it is a French show and not a US one. We are getting after the fact it has aired in France. It's just placed and filmed in the US.

I have only watched one episode to be fair, but I am a fan of the original series of the original movies (1-4... ok, 4 was a bit of a stinker, but still better than this).
This show has almost nothing to do with the original movies. It looked like they tried to be funny, but weren't successful. The taxi is lame... nowhere near as sleek as the Peugeot 406, nowhere near as cool. Just a mildly souped up NY taxi (though to be fair it would be odd if they used a French car in New York).
Had they played the story 100% straight, fine, but it just doesn't feel like that was the intention. That's why it feels like a failure. The jokes were just too terrible.
I'm perplexed also. Easily one of the worst premises for a show in a while.

shareI stopped watching after the first 4 episodes because I found the show poorly and strangely written. I see it's up to episode 12. Did it figure itself out or are they still having the taxi driver dressing as a Zulu warrior to scare confessions out of sociopaths? I wanted to like the show as I was watching it. I'm not trolling here.
