What was that item Attika gave Nessa in Series Finale? (spoilers)

In the finale, Attika went to get Nessa who was being held in solitary.

Attika gave her something, and made some comment about Nessa's family. I knew when I saw it that it looked like a weapon.

What was it?!

This same item is what Attika used to stab Al-Zahid.

I believe it was a large piece if shrapnel from a missile that killed Atika's family. It had the name "Stein" stenciled on it, as it had been manufactured by the Stein company.

It looked like a piece of shrapnel from munitions provided by her father's company that played a role in the death of Attika's family.

I was about to ask the same question! I couldn't figure out what it was either. At first I thought it was part of a photograph, but then it made a clicking sound on the table, so it must be metal of some sort but . . . . now I know!
