Politically inaccurate, overly pro-Israel, anti-American, anti-Palestine

So.. in this universe, America conspires with Palestine to achieve mutual goals? America is aiming for Palestinian statehood? Israel is blameless in this fantasy, and wasn't pursuing Zionist goals?

I think Israel was personified as big cuddly Shlomo, who was there to welcome her back in after getting too close to those awful Palestinians, who were somehow able to derail peaceful proceedings by offering the rich and powerful US.. what exactly? Why would the US sidle up with Palestine in such a dangerous duplicitous manner? No explanations that I can remember...

It all just beggared belief too much for me to ignore. I enjoyed the series, but the inaccuracy and/or bias detracted from what might have been a great one.

In comparison, Homeland's treatment of US & Pakistani relations was almost uncomfortably flirting with a difficult reality. I always expect British drama to achieve this, so I was just a little disappointed in this respect.

Or perhaps I have missed something that you guys can point out.. :)

I think you missed the fact that it is fiction. The story is slightly plausible and serves as a backdrop to the human relationships portrayed. I didn't find it pro or anti anything. This particular story shows how an idealistic person trying to do "the right thing" is really no match for the justified seething anger and frustration the Palestinians must feel. It was maybe anti US I guess, but, an antidote to the Hollywood machine glorifying the U.S. is very welcome sometimes.

Almost a year later, but here are my two cents.

While it was a bit strange for the show to suggest that the US had plotted with Palestinians (!), it wasn't pro-Israeli at all.

To me, the balance was kept perfectly throughout the show and especially in the end, when Atika fell heroically not only to protect Nessa and Kasim but also to defend her cause.

Also, it would be pro-Israeli, provided Nessa had stood up and killed the Palestinian who organized the whole plan. Instead, she says "she deserved it".

All in all, I was amazed by how well they balanced things out, and presented a theme the complexity of which is unprecedented in human history.
