Nessa, Atika, Palestine, Monica, CIA (spoilers)

So....I've just finished watching this and it left me scratching my head; so much so that I felt the need to create a profile on here to try and achieve some clarity.

My understanding was that Monica, the CIA and the Palestinians (the armed faction? the official authorities?) were working in concert to try and secure statehood for Palestine.

First question: did Monica arrange the replacement of Ephra with Nessa at the head of the company in knowledge that she was going to be kidnapped and raped in Gaza and subsequently susceptible to manipulation? So, a plan essentially years in the making to ensure that the contract would be awarded to a Palestinian, and eventually culminating in a planned attempted assassination of Nessa?

If so, what is Atika's role in all this? She reveals that she knew Kasim would be kidnapped all along. Fair enough. But she also reveals that she knew herself and Nessa would be kidnapped in Gaza all those years ago, albeit with the claim that she did not realise Nessa would be raped. As per above, my understanding was that the rape was 'tactical' with the aim of producing a child which could be used against Nessa in the future. If Atika did not realise this then what why was she originally complicit in Nessa's initial kidnapping? What did she hope to achieve?

Finally, a connection between Monica, the US, El-Amin and the Palestinian extremists/freedom fighters (whatever we label them as) is made apparent towards the end of the show. How complicit is official Palestinian authorities hinted as being in this plot? i.e. how closely were they working in concert with each other? Was Samir Meshal associated with both/either and who specifically did he confirm "she has agreed" to?

Clarification to any of the above points would be appreciated
