So the first time Claire said she walked through the two doors obviously the fake parents let her out, the time they she was locked in with the guy, I'm guessing the parents snuck in and locked them in and listen for the queue to unlock it to make the guy seem like he was able to unlock it himself pretty odd!

That's true but I'm thinking at that point after Claire talked to him and he had his epiphany he might have not been "all there". He was distracted/exhausted and he maybe wouldn't have heard anything going on past the door. Other than her brainwashing him over to her side that whole speech also might have been used to distract him from what was really going on in the room.

shareHe seemed out of it, maybe even drugged from the night before, and is very susceptible at that point. I thought that they did unlock the door, just part of their plan to convert him.
