A Question About Acurracy Of The 1st Night's Riot Scene.

as i said previous no footage of the 1st night's riot exist and
eye witness accounts are conflicting. so since i am sure it was
chaotic who's to say a straight acting white guy didn't toss the first
brick? i by no means want to down play the part played by drag
queens and transgender people of color and effeminate white guys
but isn't it possible a straight acting white guy threw the 1st
brick. i have seen photos of the other three nights rioting and
guess what there are a lot of casually dressed white guys.

in other words for people who say point blank that a straight
acting white guy couldn't have thrown the 1st brick show me the
evidence.

reply

i find it telling that no one answered my question. it seems no one
who states drag queens and transgender people did the rioting by
themselves even want to think the thought that the 1st brick on
1st night could possibly have been thrown by a straight acting
pretty white boy. after all no footage exists to show exactly what
happened and in what order.

If, after "The Patriot" and "Anoynumous" you were expecting historical accuracy in a Roland Emmerich film, you were sadly, sadly, mistaken.

Anyone at all who was expecting historical accuracy was sadly mistaken. Emmerich never intended it to be 100% historically accurate, ever. For a fictional movie set in a historical event, this one actually has as many real people in it, and as much accuracy as the best of Hollywood movies. It's not a documentary. For that you want The American Experience: Stonewall Rebellion, based on David Carter's book.

I agree with gayspiritwarrior that "The American Experience: Stonewall Rebellion" is probably the best film so far on Stonewall. PBS has releasded this on DVD and is even available here in UK.

There has indeed been a lot of brouhaha about this film and its accuracy to history. Since when has Hollywood produced 100% historically accurate filme? Or for that matter, 'Pinewood' in UK. The most recent example was "The Imitation Game" - a good film, but with many historical accuracies, not to mention vital aspects of the Alan Turing story totally ignored.

I will only judge "Stonewall" after I have seen it - and as yet there is no UK release scheduled. While I can make no claim to have been there at the time of the 'riots', I did visit the joint a few times six months before.

You may have to settle for the DVD. I think the budget for distribution was exhausted. The movie didn't play anywhere for longer than the first week. There was nothing like a general release. The sabotage campaign did its job too well.

i can't help but wonder why no one wants to answer my question. i am
not debating that transgender people and drag queens weren't a big
part of the riots. but as i said before since the 1at night's rioting
was soooooooo chaotic who's to say a acting white pretty boy didn't
throw the 1st brick?
