It seems like the main character would be less stressed if she had less children. Having more than one or two seems to affect quality of life. Having kids is elective after all, not mandatory.

Many people treat kids as a "blessing", therefore when you have more of them, you get special treatment. More money from welfare, for example.

Real funny culwin... I have 5 children, and my wife stays home to raise and school them. I don not receive one penny of welfare or any other type of hand-out. I bust my but for everything we have.
Don't pigeon-hole people like that. It make you look dumb.

You are what's wrong with society. If you don't like living in a Christian nation that still believes in Multiply and Replenish, then move to China. I'm sure you'll be happier there.

Of course life would be easier with just one kid. But motherhood is a sacrifice. Many mothers devote their time to raising their kids and bringing them up to be successful adults to make our world a better place.
