Not sure if I was enjoying this film

But I was sorry when it ended. Judging by the slowness the cinema emptied so were most of my fellow audience members. Not exactly a feel good movie, little cuteness to make us like anyone and the lead was not sympathetically played. Yet at the end everyone felt very real and I wanted to see what happened next so I guess the film completely sucked me in.

Somehow, I felt the same way. I think Moretti decided to highlight an important figure for everyone with minimalism.

In the very end, the granddaughter hearing the devastating new and crying under the blanket, the visiting old student and the conversation they had in the kitchen were breathing reality. Especially that scene with the granddaughter. It haunted me for a week or so.

You don't leave unchanged and that's what matters.

It's the best film of 2015 for me. Real, heartfelt, nuanced. Just simply brilliant.
