TV-MA-LSV

I know that it's after 10 PM, but I was still shocked by this. I thought the FCC prevents this sort of thing. I didn't think that indecent language, explicit sex and graphic violence were allowed on broadcast television, except with certain movies. (I know there wasn't any explicit sex or graphic violence in the two episodes that aired, but that's what TV-MA-LSV means according to the FCC).

Oh and by the way, I'm not an angry parent. I'm an 18-year-old who has a fixation on movie and TV ratings.

Anybody else think FOX is going too far?

reply

No. Get over it and move on.

reply

Fine then. I have.

reply

Ohter shows are pretty bad like SNL too.

Actually no after a certain hour a network could, hypothetically, run anything.. I remember a local network affiliate who used to run completely unedited (aside from ad breaks) movies in the late night.

Most networks just don't want to run a risk of alienating viewers.. I will say though I was a bit surprised at some of the language.. Even at late night most network channels still censor..

But I enjoyed it, can't wait for next week. The only bad thing is the awful axe cop.. What I could watch of it was just painful.

reply

Of course it goes too far. Any thinking person will recognize that it does. Filth on display is what it is. The levels of decency and morality in this country continue to set new lows.

Only thing I was shocked by while watching the second episode was when the kid said *beep* and it wasn't bleeped. I know it aired a little after midnight where I lived but was still shocked that it aired.didn't think FOX would be that ballsy.

reply

I've been waiting years for a show like this, the TV-MA kind.

reply

Are you talking about the d-word? Or did you mean the third episode where they say the s-word unbleeped? You should probably use asterisks.

Also, I watched the episodes from the past two weeks, which both claimed to have explicit sexual activity and graphic violence, and had neither. I'm beginning to think FOX is overrating these shows. (the first episode was rated TV-14-DLSV but was re-rated TV-MA-LSV on the second airing.)

reply

Yeah, I meant the s-word. Lol, you're right I should've used asterisks.

reply

I've seen the episodes numerous times and they've all been "bleeped".

but it's Saturday night at midnight (yeah, technically Sunday) so come ON..

that's why there are parental controls on televisions and cable boxe, etc.. to do the jobs parents can't (if not won't) always do.

there's no GRAPHIC violence or EXPLICIT sex or anything like that! that's not even what those mean.. I'd things are ever excessive in any way it specifies in the warnings. Sexual Situations, Adult Content and Language are NOT the same!

but they're cartoons and they're clearly and explicitly for adults! geez, people.

reply

I think the show is stupid, but TV-MA shouldn't be entirely limited to cable television.
