I agree in a way. The film was wildly entertaining and laugh out loud funny at the most disturbing of things. I couldn't say it wasn't entertaining at all... it was very enjoyable and worth watching, but I don't think it worked brilliantly as a film as a whole because of two reasons: 1) some stories were better than others and 2) overall it didn't have much to say. The point was the wild tales individually.
I don't think it needed a direct link between characters/stories, but to be powerful overall as a whole film I feel like it should have had something to say - to leave it's audience feeling and thinking about. Mostly it was just funny rather than really addressing what revenge means for example (though clearly few folks ended up the better for it, haha!!) Individual tales were completely blackly hilarious, but overall I thought the film was just OK.
So I guess I am saying I think it would have been better if it'd had a bit more depth to it overall to make it a whole film with something to say rather than just a collection of ludicrously OTT revenge tales, some more darkly entertaining than others.
