Happy birthday, John! 🎉🎊🎂 And welcome to your legendary virtual family. Read in your uncle Jamie’s tweet of the generous presents your dad wants you to have. The wooden leg sounds almost like a knightly accolade… Wooden-leg wrestling comes to mind... 😊
Please, tell us same time next year what the best thing was you learned from your dad… 😁 reply share
You have to see John's & Steven's response to that:
I know... Never mind. And I mixed intentionally the actions of real persons with the names of the characters to add to the confusion... and fun... 😆

LOL. Depends with what he stuffed the cabbage... hmmm... something dark-brown, sweet and sticky comes to mind... John could have been in for a surprise with his new dad and #stuffedcabbagefortea 😁
BTW, I’m still missing someone in this family. Young Ian is the second child of Ian and Jenny, right? They had this kid, Jamie, when Jamie went to Lallybroch. So, shouldn’t there be a young Jamie too?

I'm not sure that they are going to show the entire family. We are missing more than one sibling , Ian and Jenny do have 7 children together with Ian been the sixth of the fratrie. We also have Robbie McNabb that was only a few years older than Jamie.
Oh, I didn't know they were so many. So, young Ian must be somehow more special than the other siblings that he gets more of an own story than they do. Thanks all for explaining.

He is very like Jamie, and more like a son to him than a nephew. My favourite book character after Jamie and Claire. I can't wait to see him on screen.

Jenny and Ian have about 7 children, Young Ian's the last one. Three sons, and 4 daughters..
What's so special about Young Ian: Jamie always thought of Young Ian as his own son, and Young Ian always saw Jamie as his father figure.. So, that's how the bond is between them. And Young Ian's always with Jamie and Claire, wherever they go.
Also, Young Ian is kind of Jamie 2.0.

She knows. People tell her frequently. And to her credit, she does make notes and tells the publisher. I don't think she cares too much about dates and ages-Jamie's age and birthdate are probably never going to sync-but she does try to correct other things, I think. For example, Marsali's name is Marsali Jane MacKimmie Joyce in Voyager, when she marries Fergus. DG said that the names MacKimmie and Joyce were both there because she had not decided on the last name of her father. She went with MacKimmie and Joyce should have been omitted, but it wasn't. She and the editors missed it. DG said she would tell them about the mistake.
No, Joyce was a possible last name for Marsali's second husband's last name. DG put both names down because she hadn't decided which she wanted to use. She just forgot to remove the name she didn't choose. No one caught it, which I don't understand. What do editors do? I thought they edited. Aren't there proofreaders for manuscripts too? If I noticed the name was wrong immediately, I would think professional should have, too.
The reminder: Today is Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp Randall Fraser's birthday, of course..
Does anyone else think it odd that the books don't give a date for Brianna's birthday beyond November? We know Jamie and Claire's, although admittedly not much is made of them. After Claire left Brianna and went back in time, come November, we never see her wistful, or thinking of Brianna on that day especially. Jamie was always the one who seemed to know what day it was, not Claire, so maybe that is why. reply share
