if I wasn't a diabetic before

I am now after watching this sickly sweet treacly, over the top feel good movie....confirming "things get better when we are working together?" what? Was "A Time to Change" too expensive to use? don't get me wrong I'm very happy this family found each other after their very sad losses but oh my gosh this was the hoKiest cheesiest movie I've ever seen

The book was if anything probably more heavy-handed in that respect at times.

I thought the movie as a whole was good -- it was not overly treacly much of the time and mom in particular provided a strong character & the actress played her well. As was on the whole the rest of the main cast.

The story was naturally sugary on some level but it was not really handled in a too saccharine way much of the time.

ETA: The "drama" in the last third or so was basically dramatic license.

I enjoyed the movie, don't know if it's just because I am overly emotional right now, but it had me tearing up in a good way. Didn't realize it was a true story until the end, that made me like the story even more. It was a beautiful thing to see two people find love after such a devastating loss. The characters also did a wonderful job, in my opinion.
