How could it come to this, after only 1 1/2 Years?

I Didn't Do It has been a Hilarious Series in Disney Channel, but now, confirmed less than a week ago, it's wrapping up, after only 2 seasons. Usually if a Disney Channel series were to be wrapping up, they'd announce it months in advance, not the last minute. We didn't even get to see the Fivesome on their Senior Year of Secondary School, nor did we get to see Austin North, Sarah Gilman and Peyton Clarke on another show, #WhatTheWhatWeekend, and the Main Theme song is even going to be featured in Just Dance: Disney Party 2 coming out shortly. This year, 4 Disney Channels come to an end, as well as Disney XD's Mighty Med. This has been quite upsetting to many fans, the show really does deserve a future, we know these shows aren't expected to last forever, but they do tend to last atleast 3 or 4 seasons. Across Twitter, there's been a Number of Tweets persuading a Season 3 to happen (#SaveIDDI, #WeWantIDDISeason3, #IDDINeedsAFuture), hopefully the creators will have something to have us satisfied for the Future. We quite enjoy the laughs DC has to offer, don't we?

I think ratings-wise, the show did not do as well as other Disney Channel shows. While most Disney Channel shows do get a 3-4 season run, there have been a few exceptions: Cory in the House ran two seasons (2007-2008). JONAS ran two seasons after a failed reboot to JONAS L.A. (2009-2010). Sonny with a Chance ran two seasons (2009-2011), with a spin-off, So Random!, only running one season (2011-2012).

Phil of the Future also just ran for two seasons. And also Lizzie Mcguire.

reply

Yeah, but those both ended because of stars going diva and demanding too much money.

"I guess it never hurts to 'shake it up'."

No, Phil was cancelled due to low ratings. Lizzie McGuire ended because it had met its (then) 65 episode commitment, when Disney channel shows did not go beyond 65 episodes. ABC/Disney actually wanted a continuation series on ABC in prime time that would follow Lizzie McGuire into high school, but a deal could not be reached between ABC/Disney and Hilary Duff.

Re: Phil

I heard before that Phil was popular in its time so the cancellation was shocking and Disney had a choice between giving it a third season or creating a new show (which would cost less money? than renewing Phil).

They took a chance on a new series and it paid off. Phil was cancelled in 2006 the same year Disney launched Hannah Montana, its biggest hit to date.
