"My Dads raised me right"...

Yup, looks like they're going there.

In our most recent episode "Doggie Daddy", Delia and Betty are sitting on the couch and Betty tells Delia "You're a sweet kid"

And Delia responds: "My Dads raised me right" (canned laughter ensues)

So this is a foreshadowing of whats to come? An episode where we "meet" Delias two dads? Its weaving its way more and more into the show. Its not just a slip for comedic effect as it was used again.

Oh,well, its their show. But I must say I'm kind of annoyed with it.

she already mentioned it in a previous episode and the onlly annoying thing is that this is a clear retcon cause in s1 she had at least 2 plots where she mentioned her mother

It seems we living the American dream
But the people highest up got the lowest self-esteem

i know she already mentioned it. My point - was if it were just once, then that would be a continuity error or comedic effect line. however, since she mentioned it again, it seems like they are making room for a segway into showing that she indeed has 2 fathers- and likely they will come up in another episode.

I don't see it as a retcon because everyone has at least one mother who contributed the egg and at least one mother who contributed the womb for nine months (who are usually the same person, of course).

And of course the number of persons who a child considers to have functioned as her mother (or father) depends on sociological factors, not biology.

So it is possible that Delia lives with her mother and her mother's current husband and her mother's former husband is also present in her life and helps raise her.

I also note that a teenage girl might POSSIBLY make jokes about her family situation designed to weird out her listeners.

I also note that it is POSSIBLE for someone to be nicknamed "Dads".

Thus Delia could speak of her mother and her "dads" without necessarily implying anything you might consider bizzare.

Myy Two Dads had a girl raised by two men.
Full House had three girls raised by three men.

It's nothing new for TV. So, how do we know Delia's dads are gay? Not that there is anything wrong with that. It is just that men raising girls together on TV has been done before.

reply

Wrong, there is *beep* wrong with being Gay if youre a Bible believer. That Goes for Jews, Christians, converts, and all 160,000 sects.

None of the Full House Guys were gay, they all dated women. Sure Bob sagget cleaned, I know many friends that are dudes that clean out of OCD like Bobbert

I actually do agree. I just didn't want to offend anyone. (gay posters) I feel like on some of these boards, (the Full House board) I am constantly defending the characters, so, I didn't want to start a fight. Because, then I wouldn't want to visit this board much. Anyway, this is a Disney show, so they probably won't even approach the subject, anyway.

reply

Good luck charlie had a lesbian couple on screen an entire episode. And remember what the bible says about being ashamed not to offend people because of the truth. Speak even when the world is against you

I know the Full House guys were not gay and neither were the guys from the show My Two Dads. That's why I listed them. Two shows where men are raising girls together without being gay.

In case you have never seen My Two Dads:
Two friends, Michael Taylor and Joey Harris fell in love with the same woman in college. Her name was Marcy Bradford. She left them because she didn't want to ruin their friendship. It was too late, their friendship was already destroyed. Tewlve to thirteen years later, Michael and Joey recieve word that Marcy had died. They meet again in a judge's chambers. She informs them that Marcy has died, and left them both custody of her twelve year old daughter, Nicole. (She knew one wad the bio-dad) The guys managed to patch things up and raise Nicole together.

Just when I start watching Disney shows.... I guess they are worse than ever with their agenda pushing.

reply

probably why the show did so poor it had to be cancelled.

I don't want to watch stuff like that when I'm watching Disney.

Disney is sooo successful BECAUSE they make sure it offends least people as possible. So doing a bold move like that will most likely hurt them.

I do like some shows like that, but I don't want them on Disney. I go to other channels and show sources for stuff like that.

And Disney already has their sister company ABC Family for family like shows, but with a bit harsher/more hardcore elements.
