Cheating on Yennifer (spoilers)

So I had the Geralt ending where he ends up with Yennifer. But of course in Hearts of Stone I still bag Shani like Yen doesn't exist anymore. Geralt is such a dog. And the. Shani splits town. I wonder if he tells Yen about his rowboat adventure. He has a thing for redheads I guess.

Yen is a manipulative bitch who's slept with plenty of other men because she always has an agenda. She doesn't care if Geralt sleeps around. He can hit all the brothels he wants. What bugged her was his one year thing with Triss. She never believed that he had amnesia.

Here's the thing with Yen. When they first met, Geralt was wary of her. Witchers distrust sorceresses because of their magic and because most are like Yet -- very powerful and determined to have their way no matter what the cost to anyone else. He noticed the smell of lilacs and goosseberries, the glamor Yen uses for magic, and wondered what she really looked like since many sorceresses are born with some sort of physical deformity, the most common of which is that they may be a hunchback. Yen was indeed a hunchback but once she underwent her training as a sorceresses, magic was used to change her physical appearance.

So here's Geralt, definitely noticing how beautiful she is, but still wary of her because he knows better than to trust a sorceress and he starts wondering if she's a hunchback. Yen reads his mind, knows what he's thinking and punishes him for it.

Their meeting was because he needed her help in finding a djinn that had cursed Dandelion who was very ill. Yen agreed to help but only because she wanted the djinn for herself, to augment her own powers. But she was stuck in Rinde, having offended quite a few of the locals and didn't dare venture outside her home. So she used Geralt, casting a spell on him, to make him do her every bidding. He ran all over town exacting revenge on anyone Yen didn't like or had offended. Then they set out to track down the djinn.

Geralt is still under her spell. He's falling in love with her, well, in lust at any rate and she's playing it up but also gets tired of him quickly but still needs his help. She's not in love with him at this point because it's all about using him.

They find the djinn. A major battle ensues where much of Rinde is damaged and destroyed. It's taking everything Yen has to try and control the djinn and she's pretty much losing, her strength and health are failing. Geralt makes a wish binding them together and the djinn is controlled. It saves Yen and they're able to help Dandelion but it also binds them together forever.

Over the years, they've had lots of arguments, break-ups and reunions. While in Rivia, the local folk turned on non-humans and began killing them. Geralt tried to reason with them to help the elves and dwarves but things got worse. In the midst of fighting, one young man attacked Geralt. He spared the young man only to be attacked by him yet again with a pitchfork. As he lay mortally wounded, Yen tried to heal him but she was also very weak and wounded. Ciri took them both to a magical isle called Avalon where they spent five years together.

The Wild Hunt having noticed Ciri's presence, pursued her. When they learned that Yen and Geralt were on Avalon, they abducted Yen believing that Ciri would try to rescue her. Ciri did not, knowing it was a trap. Geralt then chased after the Wild Hunt, killing many of them, and finally finding Yen. He offered himself in exchange for Yen and they agreed, figuring that Ciri would be more likely to show herself for Geralt than for Yen. So Yen was released. She had no memory of her time with the Red Riders but other mages helped her recover her memory fully.

Ciri did rescue Geralt and dropped him in the forest outside of Kaer Morhen (first witcher game). He had complete amnesia about most things other than his witcher training and the witchers at Kaer Morhen. He had no recollection or Yen or Ciri. Triss was there and she saw it as her opportunity. During one of Yen and Geralt's break-ups, she approached Geralt and tried to sleep with him. He refused her saying that he saw her as nothing more than a friend. She let it go but now that he had amnesia, she convinced him that they were lovers and she promised to help him recover him memories. However she did nothing of the sort for two fulls games. Others filled in the missing pieces for him, particularly Letho.

But once reunited with Yen, she still held to the belief that Geralt had simply run off with Triss. She did not believe in his amnesia because she had recover her memories rather quickly with the help of other mages. Geralt, however, only had Triss by his side and she didn't help him at all. She never once even mentioned Yen or Ciri.

So, Yen minds it very much if Geralt slept with Triss but she couldn't care less if he slept with every other woman in the world.
