Ending was bad

Got to say that climax was pretty poor. Was hoping for something better. The the director thought he'd pretend to be Nolan and leave us with just our thoughts... Nah lad

Very realistic though. I think you probably just found the ending unsatisfying from a revenge perspective.

Very realistic? I wasn't too bothered about the revenge part. I just felt that the ending unsatisfied me. For a bunch of supposedly big hard men, experienced in battle such as this, they get pretty much done in by some kids don't they? They have no battle plan at all.

Then at the end when the two kids meet, leaving it a at a cliffhanger was a load of poo. I'd rather have known whether he was going to attack the lad or give him a hug and forgive him.

When I said realistic I was talking about the outcome of the brawl. It doesn't matter how old and experienced they are they lost from lack of basic planning. If you just walk into battle directly through the enemy's front door on unknown territory you are at an immediate disadvantage. Thinking these kids would just use sticks and fists the old fasioned was quite naive after they killed the old man.

Yes the kid had a gun but the battle was lost from the moment they walked into the ambush with bricks pelting down on them.

Maybe the kid was reading Sun Tzu's - Art Of War.

Yeah that's what I mean mate, they're supposed to be this group of hard men. Experienced. That's what I mean when I said they walked into it all without a battle plan or being wary.

Yeah for a scally that lad sure had an army plan set up hahaha

So I got to the end and was wondering, where the hell was David Essex. Then I found out. Christ looked old enough to be Joan Collins dad.

I LOVED that ending!

The whole point and theme of the story was generation through generation, you are what you are, who you become, your heritage, your background. Mitch even says it in the letter to Adam at the end.

That ending, that it would continue through the children because of a lack of parental attention and company, just like it had been for the two leads, elevates the film. Gives it a purpose.
