Did I miss the demons?

I'll completely admitt Adylum movies are never going to win an Oscar ( or any other positive award) but is it asking too much to get the plot summary right? It said the people who were left have to fight a world of demons...did I miss the demons? Was I so caught up in the 12 year beating a grown man's head to plup on the driveway that I missed the demons?

I would say it could be symbolic of the demons inside all of us being released without inhibition.......but I don't think an asylum film would be that deep.
