Why did Jack's wife commit suicide?

Jack asks the girl if the infected people commit suicide and the girl tells him no and that they are only violent to each other.

That seemed like it was a very important part to the plot or the reveal at the end.

I didn't make it to the end of the movie 'cuz the movie sucked so bad; although I did my best to get as far as I can.

So if someone who was able to watch the entire thing, can they give me the spoiler on why his wife committed suicide and the others did not?

One would have to say the "girl" didn't know everything. I mean, what made her the know all of what was going on.

I watched to the end. There is no resolution to the movie.

I was thinking it was the drugs they gave her.
