aspect ratio bluray

the bluray starts in 2.39:1 aspect ratio, but after 6 minutes it turns to 16:9 (and it seems like a pan & scan).. Why did they do that for the bluray? deviating from the original aspect ratio is sooooo 80'/90's..
Or is there a another bluray which does keep the original aspect ratio, or was it like this in the theater (I cannot imagine that though)..

I dont know why but it did at the theater too

i think it must be the Director's intention.

jumping into realism, where the audience's viewing ratio-screen suddenly becomes bigger, psychologically bringing us 'deeper' into the movie, 'like-in-your-face', literally.

I'm pretty sure it was intended to be like that, and it was more like 2:60 more than 2:39 ... when they did that I thought to myself "sh!t just got real" and they did it pretty much directly after the explosion and I think it was that effect they wanted to have on the viewer

I am who you once thought of becoming but realised it wasn't all that it was cranked up to be
