The true story of Carolyn's Raeburn's daughter who graduated from high school at the age of 16. Laura was bright, popular and enthusiastic about the future, but the summer before she was to begin college, an event occurred changing forever the lives of her and her family.
It is not a true story. There was a disclaimer at the beginning that said, "This is a work of fiction. It is not 'based on a true story.' It is a drama inspired by actual persons in a civil suit. It is neither an attempt to depict the actual persons nor to represent actual events pertaining to the trial." That's a pretty detailed disclaimer, so obviously they wanted to make it really clear that this is not a true story at all.
