Wheres my allowance bungie?

Growing up i had a list of chores my parents made me do and my reward was i got an allowance every week. Well bungie......i did your chore so wheres my allowance?oh wait is it xur? Or the legendary package for leveling up my vanguard rank? Because that only gave me shards (which i have over 150 of) or legendary armor which is useless since i have raid gear. No ill bet its the fact that everything i did in the game up to the release of the dark below was pointless since i have to do it all over again.
