Excellent Drama

I'm absolutely in love with the show. Despite not knowing Italian, I thought it would be difficult to watch but I'm amazed it made it more incredible to watch. The talent of the actors and actresses makes it that much more mesmerising to watch. I can't wait for the next episode. Thank you Italy for bringing one of the best shows I've seen to the UK.

Continuing the trend of Non-US programs being the best in the world. I would rather watch this show in Italian than countless drivel shows from Hollywierd in English. Let's just hope they don't make a US version.

Check out the AU shows "Rake" and "Upper Middle Bogan (Bess of Both Worlds)." The PC police haven't made it down under, yet.

I think it would be difficult to make a believable U.S version, since the serie is based on a very important piece of modern Italian history. My father was remembering all facts while watching it.

This is so true. I don't know what's happening but European productions like 1992 and Occupied are miles ahead of US series. Think it says a lot about American culture when the bust series on the air is a work of fantasy fiction featuring dragons. It's like we can't deal with reality.

'Romanzo Criminale' (the series, not the movie) ranks high up there with 'Six Feet Under', 'The Sopranos' ecc. I think it's available on dvd with english subtitles. And as far as I know, an US remake is in production.

I watch '1992' with italian subtitles (on Sky Italy). If you speak a little bit of Italian and want to expand your knowledge of the language, a great way to do so.

Probably the series will be issued on dvd soon.

Get the Italian BLURAY.

Gomorrah - Saw movie and TV show. Liked both.
Have not seen Romanzo Criminale - I will certainly look for it. Thanks for the tip.
So far I have seen the first three episodes of 1992 with English subs and the next two in Italian only. The subs help but are impossible to find at this time.

Update: Show just keeps getting better. Have seen up to Ep. 5 with English subs. I hope the show continues to be GREAT!

For some crazy reason Romanzo Criminale series 2 on blu ray and DVD only has English subtitles and series 1 only has subtitles in Italian, I do not see why as both series broadcast on sky arts with English subtitles.

It is also available dubbed into Yiddish- quite remarkable and rather bizarre.

Looking forward to this. French doesn't even touch Italian on screen imo.

The Consequences of Love is a masterpiece.

Rake is a good mention from down under. Very dry humour that I'm not sure most of the US crowd wouldn't pick up on.

Long shot, but can anyone help me out with a film I'm trying to find. Its Italian, about a boy who stays in the basement of his building while telling his mother he's on a school trip. He ends up spending the time with his half sister who has a smack problem?

I be most appreciative.

Hello ticasual! Long time since you asked this question, but I just watched the whole season of 1992 and loved it. I have been taking italian for several years and understood so much, it was awesome. So I decided to do a search on Imdb to see what rating it had etc... and saw your comment, so to answer your question : the movie you're looking for is "Io e Te". I haven't seen it, but read the book last June because we had to read and review a book for our end of year exam. It was a good book, so enjoy the movie, if you haven't already seen it :-)
