MPAA Rating: PG

Just like the first one, this is PG. More than likely it is going to be one of those "PG but should be G" type movies.

reply

Actually, I've seen it, and it'd be really intense for a G movie.

reply

There are plenty of intense G-rated movies, though.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) is rated G and it's got some intense scenes in it. The criteria has definitely changed over the years.

reply

Both Home Alone films and The Great Escape with Steve McQueen are also rated G (though I have no idea how the hell they got away with THAT!). LOL.

ALL of the Home Alone films are Rated PG. All you had to do was search on IMDB to see that. The Great Escape was never rated by the MPAA therefore it has an "Unrated" certificate, not a Rated G. Where in the world did you get your source from?

reply

From the Canadian ratings on the backs of the boxes in Target, friend. I know most people go by the MPAA rating (I go by both American and Canadian ratings) and on the backs of all the movies I mentioned they have a G rating on them. Google Images may have them there. I am Canadian, therefore both ratings are significant.

Ratings in Canada are different than in the usa.
I think even an R rated film in the usa can get a
G rating in Canada.

reply

Wrong.
It goes like this:

CAN--USA:
G----G, PG
PG---PG, PG-13, (Very rarely) R
14A--PG-13, R
18A--R, (sometimes) NC-17
R----R, NC-17

Canadian ratings are usually more forgiving than the MPAA.

I guessing it was also based on the rather adult joke of

I'm no prude, but I thought for a Disney movie that comment was in rather poor taste. The kids won't get it though, but its enough to push the rating. I don't think putting out fires really needs to be PG, but at the end of the day you know your kids and you make the decision :)
