A Very Complete Masterpiece

I just finished the last episode and let me tell you, this is quite simply a masterpiece.

The writing is perfectly sharp, the cinematography, atmosphere, acting...it is all highest quality attainable. The last episode in particular is just perfection. No punches are pulled. It makes True Detective look like the child's play that it is.

I don't know if there will ever be a second season, but even if there isn't, I am glad I got to see this one. The ending is so satisfying I would be ok with ending here. I will rewatch it and enjoy in all over again in a couple years.

Anyone who enjoys a good period piece, a crime piece, or simply an astonishing work of cinema, watch Quarry.
Thanks, Greg Yaitanes.

Agree it's fantastic but wouldn't call s1 of TD child's play. S2, however....

You are drunk on beer.

I don't like beer and watched the show fully sober. It just is that good.

Spot on.

Of course they couldn't know it wouldn't attract any viewers, but it's still nice they delivered a satisfying conclusion.

I tend to agree. A masterpiece might be a bit much though. Season 1 of True Detective is absolutely incredible.

reply

A masterpiece isn't a bit much at all, honestly.

I guess we'll have to judge it by the second season down the road, assuming it gets one. True Detective didn't do so well.
