I take it that Christians hate this movie, right?

You know how they get when people don't accept the existance of God as a fact.

reply

You do realise that not only Christians believe in God, right?

You're using the term "Christian" very broadly anyway. I would say your view of Christians is far more narrow minded than what you think Christians feel about people not accepting God. There are plenty of Christians who enjoyed the movie, including those who made it.

reply

I'm talking specifically about American, conservative Christians.

reply

You might make that clearer. Your subject line makes you look like a putz.

reply

No. It just makes you look like a fan of the non-sequitur. Good job expounding your own ignorance.

reply

The only non-sequitur I see is your comment, matts1017, because fede_8 and bonniebonniebanks were carrying out a logically progressing conversation. Why be so aggressive?

reply

As a conservative American Christian, I can't answer your question. I haven't seen the movie yet. Too busy loving the last movie I saw about a gay man inventing a computer in the 40s to save the world from Nazis. It wasn't historically accurate in a vast number of places, but it was still a great film.

"Theory" is still on my to-do list.

If you want the historical accurate version, you should watch the American masterpiece U-571.

You ain't got a license to kill bookies and today I ain't sellin any. So take your flunky and dangle

reply

Please don't narrow the definition of a Christian to American conservatives. The spectrum of people of the Christian faith is very wide and very diverse.

reply

You take it wrong, right? I'm a Christian and I thoroughly enjoyed the film. Maybe instead of throwing out generalisations about how 'they' get, you could ask them first?

He takes a guess and projects it to the world and then you eat it up.

Um, not precisely guesses. Stephen Hawking's theories are backed up by mathematics. The theory of God is backed up by...nothing.

reply

The hero worship of guys like Hawking who does not have the universe figured out at all. He takes a guess and projects it to the world and then you eat it up. Total hypocrisy.

In fairness, Hawking has much more figured out than some pre-modern men who thought that the sun revolved around the Earth and that the Earth was flat ...

reply

Nope, my mom and brother are Christians and they loved it. There are closed-minded Christians and there are open-minded Christians, and lots of them

reply

Most Christians like most movie-goers didn't even see this film.

reply

[deleted]

Nope, I'm Christian and loved this movie.

reply

[deleted]

I'm an American Christian and LOVED the movie

reply

the film is based on Jane hawking's memoir of her marriage to Stephen. Jane Hawking is a devout Christian, and there is nothing in the film that is offensive to Christians.

reply

Haha very true. Funny the OP is calling out Christians when the source material came from a Christian.
