Another gay PSA

Don't be mean to them because they're all victims. THAT'S the problem with our society! Too many gays are sad! :(
I think the film would've been more palatable (or less bulls***ty) if it didn't imply that they're everywhere. I mean, what? His mom went lesbo-crazy and gets herself a female Elvis impersonator? How many loony toons can one family without at least FIVE narcissists in it have?

reply

Are you homophobic? Because, seriously, not everyone is attracted to you.
Another point is family can be *beep* up, you can have more than one kind off *beep* up in a family. Everyone has their issues and that was the whole point of this movie.

reply

Yea, OP sounds a bit like a bigot here. This film doesn't imply that all gays are this way. Seriously dude, you missed the whole point of the movie if that was your issue with the film. I posted about how bad the critics were on this film a few posts up so I don't want to go into it again lol. Just know that this film was very real and Cox did a great job bringing some serious problems in our society to light on the gay issue. There is also a lot more that the film is about, and is very funny in bringing those situations to light as well. It is for the most part a film about tolerance with other issues sprinkled in. Was it the best film? No, but a good one and a 7 IMHO, and no I'm not even gay , but I get the issues and problems these young men and women do go through , and the sometimes sad outcomes of them because high school kids are very cruel. Think before you say dumb things !!!

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

Is this really all you took from the movie? How low is your IQ?

There's only 4 gay people in the movie (2 gay couples). Out of the 50 or so people in this movie that's less than 10% (about 10% of the population is gay). So if anything they were underrepresented.

And as usual the mouth-breathers feel the gays were being shoved down their throats.

reply

Well, now see, that's pretty ironic because in a sense, they are all "victims."

They become victims every time someone--like YOU, for example--insists an entire group of people should be differentiated, set aside and labeled, based exclusively on the one way they're different from the majority of the population. Geez, do you have a giant problem with redheads, too? Gay people, like strawberry blondes, are indeed everywhere, so FFS, please try to stop with the Us versus Them mentality. It's so much easier to just let people be who they are.

Yes, I'm aware you're being sarcastic. But within the context of this movie, as in real life, it's too many people who are sad--because loved ones abandoned them or their lives haven't turned out the way they expected or they're ashamed of past behavior or because they're afraid if they're honest, they might suddenly find themselves being reduced down to one characteristic and stygmatized. (And again: hello?)

Seems the appeal of sitting on the victim throne is all but irresistible to you, isn't it? But mark my words, nobody that TRIES to be a victim has ever BEEN a victim. To attempt refuting that only proves that you DO try, and more often than not, TRY TOO HARD. Seriously? They're victims of ME? I excoriated a film. I gave an OPINION. And guess what! I'm entitled to my opinion, understand? Entitled. Deal with it.

Still struggling with your latent homosexuality huh? That sucks. Just come out already! You'll be much happier once you face your truth.
