In what world could she not have taken out loans even if her parents made too much for her to receive financial aid... That whole aspect was just very unbelievable

A lot of people who have financial knowledge and means DO NOT want their kids taking out those loans.

If you can't send your kids to college, the loans and grants are the best route. Low interest loans for college students can't be beat. Alan could help pay off the loans.
