Unfortunately the movie as a whole, does fail

I agree with OP. To start with I was worried...uh oh, hanks dropped the ball here...But by then end I really enjoyed it. It was interesting and funny. No complicated plot, no action scenes, no drawn out love story. Just a nice movie. Glad I have it a chance

I had always thought that Gene Hackman made any movie better by being in it, and that would translate to at least a point on IMBD. Tom Hanks would similarly raise any movie by two points.

I suppose that makes the movie itself a four.

Yes the best films do not have violence and excitement but are sexy in all other aspects.
Tom Hanks is well Tom Hanks but the real stars were the unknown in this beauty.
